ED Raids IAS Officer Gyanendra Gangwar's Premises in KPSC Exam Irregularities Case

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has conducted raids on the Bengaluru and Bareilly (Uttar Pradesh) premises of IAS officer Gyanendra Gangwar in connection with alleged KPSC exam irregularities. The officer currently serves as the Director of the Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC). These raids are linked to a larger scam involving illegal transfers and recruitments. The investigation is being carried out under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).The KPSC exam irregularities case has been a significant issue in the state, casting a shadow over numerous recruitments. Gyanendra Gangwar had previously served as the Secretary of the KPSC. The ED alleges that over 56,000 irregular transfers and recruitments for various posts like Assistant Commissioners, Tahsildars, and DySPs occurred between 2004 and 2006, during the tenure of former KPSC Chairman M.R. Hegde.
