India Inaugurates Its First Greenfield Integrated Refinery-Petrochemical Complex in Rajasthan

Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently inaugurated India's first greenfield integrated refinery-petrochemical complex in Barmer, Rajasthan, via video conferencing. The complex is being developed by HPCL Rajasthan Refinery Ltd (HRRL), a joint venture between Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) and the Government of Rajasthan. Located in the Barmer district, the project involves an investment exceeding Rs 43,000 crore and boasts a processing capacity of 9 million tonnes per annum. It is designed to produce a range of cleaner fuels, including petrol and diesel, along with various petrochemical products essential for industries.
